What is a Lecavalier recycled part?

 

A Lecavalier Auto Parts recycled part comes from a damaged vehicle. The vehicle and each part are analyzed to ensure compliance with mechanical and structural standards. Many tests are performed on our parts. A recycled part is an original part with manufacturer standards and not a similar or rebuilt part. Keep in mind that each vehicle (your own included) on the road functions with used parts because you are driving it regularly!

 

Are Lecavalier parts guaranteed?

 

All Lecavalier Auto Parts parts are guaranteed. Those of the « powertrain group » (engines, transmissions, differentials, cardan joints and steering racks) are guaranteed: parts and labour for 12 months. We also assume towing costs up to a distance of 100 kilometers.

Where do you deliver and for what cost?

 

Lecavalier Auto Parts delivers in mostly in Canada and makes two daily deliveries to the greater Quebec and Montreal region; these are free of charge. Customers in other areas of Quebec are served as soon as the day following the purchase of the part (by telephone or Internet) and the cost of the delivery is determined by the part itself and the distance. Do you have a quality control program in place?

 

Lecavalier Auto Parts has a training course for technicians who evaluate damage to car body parts in addition to a course for mechanics who inspect mechanical parts.

Lecavalier Auto Parts also has a complete shop manual of established standards for each part. Each Lecavalier Auto Parts procedure is well documented.

Where do you get the vehicles that you dismantle?

 

Lecavalier Auto Parts relies on two distinct sources. First, we hold contracts with major insurance companies to recover their damaged vehicles. Also, Lecavalier Auto Parts purchases damaged vehicles from specialized auctions across North America. 

We do not acquire vehicles or parts from any other origin, so that we avoid ever being in possession of stolen goods.

 

How many vehicles do you recycle per year?

 

Lecavalier Auto Parts recycles approximately 14,000 vehicles per year. Lecavalier Auto Parts is also the largest recycler of automobiles in Canada.

 

What do ARA and ARPAC – acronyms often found on recycled parts - stand for?

 

ARA stands for the Automotive Recycling Association, an international grouping of companies that recycle vehicle parts. Lecavalier Auto Parts has been a member since 1972. Its role is to represent recyclers to the American and Canadian governments. It is also responsible for the establishment of universal standards with respect to the description of vehicle parts and damages and any breakage that these are susceptible to incur.

ARPAC stands for the Quebec Association of recyclers of automobile and truck parts. Lecavalier Auto Parts is one of the founding members. ARPAC initiated the standards and regulations for the industry of vehicle parts recycling in Quebec, and its principal mission is to represent its members to the government.

How can I find out what the components of an assembled part are?

 

Lecavalier Auto Parts has developed a complete catalogue of each part with its components – both included and not included. For example: a front door includes the moulding, the window, the regulator, the door handle, etc.
