The company
was founded in 1942 by Mr. Fernand Lecavalier. In 1964, M.
Roger Fugère Sr and his brothers took over the business
of Mr. Lecavalier. At that moment the company had 3 employees.
January
the 3rd, 1968, a fire destroyed the building. A lot of 53
acres is then bought in Ste-Sophie on road 158 to rebuild
the business. In 1972, Mr. Fugère concludes contracts
for vehicle supplies with different insurance companies, which
increases the business' production capacity by a lot. Unfortunatly,
in 1978, the offices are destroyed by fire again and built
back.

In 1982,
Roger Fugère Jr joins the business, followed, a year
and a half later, by his brother Philippe. In 1987, M. Roger
Fugère Sr becomes the only owner. In 1999, lecavalier
acquires the Centre de recyclage St-Jean, located in
Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. In november 2001, lecavalier
associates to GreenLeaf auto of Canada, part of Ford
Canada.
In november
2002, Roger and Philippe Fugère repurchased the company,
which includes 4 sites (2 in Québec and 2 in Ontario).
Now,
lecavalier counts 180 employees and constitutes the
most important recycling center in Canada.
